The Nrf2 Diet

Professor Dame Pamela Shaw, of the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience, also known as SITraN in Sheffield, England, recommends the Nrf2 Diet for ALS/MND for some very good reasons.  The Nrf2 gene plays a key role in the body’s antioxidant stress response, which may reduce the risk of neurodegenerative conditions like ALS/MND, as well as cancer, diabetes and aging. Antioxidants help combat oxidative stress which can cause cell death or apoptosis. While the Nrf2 diet is not guaranteed to improve symptoms, it may provide some notable health benefits.
