Hi. I'm Stephen Byer and I'm here today with Barbara Byer.  We are the parents of Ben Byer who was diagnosed with ALS in 2002 at the age of 31. At the time, we didn't know very much about ALS but we immediately sought information from researchers, neurologists, clinical trials, forums, research studies and shared what we learned with Ben and other patients.  Under our care, Ben's symptoms slowed but his conditioin continued to decline.
