Benefits of Exercise

Not that long ago, the ALS diagnosis carried with it the messge, "Don't exercise because you'll wear out your muscles." Nothing could be further from the truth.  In the 1039's women, like my own mother, went into the hospital to give birth and were kept in bed for 10 days before being sent home to care for their new baby.  In my mother's own words, "By the time I was sent home, I could barely walk, my legs had become so weakened.  today, patients are out of bed as soon as possible after surgery and recover much quicker.  Continued
