A Mom’s Story

Aaron was diagnosed when he was 18 years old.  His mom Tammy wrote this moving and heartfelt story for us to share.

“So there’s this boy that kinda stole my heart…he calls me Mom.”  These words are on a pendant necklace that I cherish and wear every day around my neck; I purposely look at the necklace in my reflection in the mirror many times during the day, and I often hold the pendant and squeeze it between my fingers. I suppose I have this ritual because it somehow gives me solace in knowing that I am still blessed to be the mother of a precious son, one who has been battling ALS for four years since the rare age of only 20 years old.
